My Bucket List

Everyone should have a Bucket List. People have something they really want to do. I'm going to share my Bucket List. They might be different to yours. Tell me your opinion and help me achieve them with your support!

1. Flying a helicopter is one of them. It might take time and practice, but I really want to do this. I will achieve this goal. Flying through the air and controlling my direction. I could fly away!

2. Soccer is one of my favourite sports. I would like to play soccer in a big, huge stadium where many famous players train and play. This is my dream. i would like to meet some of those players and play soccer with them.

3. One day I would like to have the laziest day in my life. Do whatever I want to do without caring about what other people think. It would be awesome just to sit and eat and definitely not study.

4. Flying in a hot air balloon would be a great experience for me. I want to float in the air. At winter time if it would be perfect. Look at the countryside from a bird's eye view. Feel the cool air.

5. Getting into a food fight in school is something I really need to do. Rampaging and running everywhere. Just go crazy. Throwing food and destroying what is in view. It would be so fun if it became real.

6. Hunting in a forest has always been in my imagination. I would like to go rabbit hunting during the winter. I wouldn't want to harm too many rabbits. Just one would be enough for me. I would love to complete this goal.

7. It's a wild dream but I want to play paintball in my school. My school is huge and has buildings. It would be so suspenseful and fun. Play a survival game. Definitely something I need to do.

8. Snow is one of my favourite things to play with. Having a snowball fight is fun. But imagine having a huge one with lots and lots of people. It'll be great! Definitely lots of snow and action.

9. I want to publish a good book and earn money. I know it's hard but I will try and make my parents proud. I think the fame would be pretty cool.

10. Gravity pulls us down. I want to be in a room with no gravity. Jumping and floating. I would try many things. I want to try eat in a no gravity chamber.

My Photo Essay

I am going to show you 7 pictures and describe them. I will try and use my 5 senses to describe them. My theme is experiences of GLPS. Enjoy my photo essay!

"The Road Up to the Gym"
I can see the grey asphalt rod leading up to the gym. There are green trees at side. I can feel the breeze passing through and shaking the trees. I see wet water puddles in the distance. The road seems to be a bit wet as it had rained. I also can hear the birds chirping.

"Large Picture of Campus"
I'm looking out the window of my dorm. I can see the green trees and white clouds that are like cotton candy in the sky. I smell the cow manure and feel the cool breeze blowing into my face. I see large buildings in the distance and a super size soccer field.

"The Minjok Building"
I see greenish blue roofs through the tall green trees. It is a great sight. The Minjok building looks traditional. I see rough looking grey stone walls. The green grass moves with the wind.

"The Picture of Me and Mr. Lee"
This is a class room at the Chungmu building. I can see myself feeling happy. The room feels really hot. I can hear my friends talking and working. The walls are painted white. I'm wearing a purple T-Shirt.

"Mist Over the Soccer Field"
A cloud has set on the soccer field. It is white and looks dusty. I see the red track leading around the field. The green grass is in view. The pale mist is blocking my view.

"Mist Over the Chungmu Building"

The road beyond has lots of white mist. You can barely see what's in front of you. I can feel the soft wet cloud. Touching it feels like touching wet air. I see tall green trees. A giant building is in view, called the Chungmu building. The light green bushes are in view.

"The Corridor of the 4th Floor"

It's dimly lit. The corridor is long, like a train track. Everything is white or grey. I can feel the smooth walls. I smell the ventilated air. I hear the footsteps of the PAs.

Persuasive Writing

Dear Parents,

I am writing this letter because I think that living on a ground floor house with a front lawn is better than an apartment.

Many citizens and celebrities would agree with me. Many of them live in those kind of houses. I will give reasons and facts to support my opinion.

First reasons is that we will be able to keep a dog. Our family wants a dog right? In an apartment we can't do that as there will be complaints of noise and smell.

The second reason is that having a front lawn could make us exercise more. we could play football, have a trampoline and etc.

Final reasons is that it's more dangerous living in an apartment. Data shows that there are many apartment fires. Living in an apartment it will be hard to escape fires. Also it is easy for the fires to spread, it is safer to live in an ground floor house. http://www.nfpa.org/research/fire-statistics/the-us-fire-problem/apartment-structure-fires This link shows the data for this year and the past. I recommend living in a house for our safety.

The facts and reasons show that it is better living in a house. I hope you consider my argument. I will help during your decision.

My Creative Writing

The Escape

Jimmy Doyle had just gotten out of the shower and was relaxing on the sofa. The lights glowed a yellowish colour. The walls were painted white, with expensive paintings on the wall. The air smelled of delicious food that he had ordered for room service. He was at a five star hotel called 'The Dynasty' in Hong Kong. Far from home, alone, he was on vacation. Mr. Doyle's job was a National Informant, he transferred critical information from place to place. He looked out the window, the sky flashed now and then and rain poured from the clouds. 'Something felt wrong today' he thought. At that moment there was a knock on the door. It was the bellboy, he said that there were some guests coming.
Mr. Doyle wasn't expecting any guests. He put his clothes on and sat at the table, then waited. Few minutes later there was a knock, he walked up and cracked the door open, on the other side stood a man named Yuri, a Russian informant, he had some furious looking men with him. Jimmy new what this was, they had come to kidnap him. As one of the men tried to reach for him, he got a wine bottle in his reach a smashed it over his head. He slammed the door shut and locked it. Now he had a few seconds before they broke the door open. He looked around for an escape route. Jimmy saw the fire escape. The large window that blocked Jimmy's way to the fire escape had a lock from the inside, and that key was in the kitchen. Jimmy knew that there was not enough time. Jimmy glanced and charged shoulder first. The window shattered into a million pieces and it flew everywhere. He could feel his shoulder bleeding but he didn't care, he had to run to survive.

The stairs led up to the roof and that was his only choice, he climbed the stairs with all his life. As he climbed the stairs he could hear the Hong Kong traffic below him. The sky flashed with lightning and he got wet from the rain. Rain poured on him as if he was taking a shower, he was wet to the bones. The night view of Hong Kong was amazing. Then he remembered that people were trying to kill him. The roof had no other exit. Looking around he had to jump to the building next to the hotel. Jimmy took a breath as he stepped back. His arms pumped and legs sprinted. as he got nears the edge he jumped and leaped into the air, he saw the city below him. He broke to the ground. His body ached from the crash. The roof he had landed on was a roof of an apartment. He scrambled up and limped to the stars that leaded down. The sign read 11th floor. He walked down further ending up on the 9th floor. The corridor was dimly lit and had a queasy smell. Shadows gulped Jimmy up. There was an elevator at the end of the corridor. He walked as fast as his aching legs would carry him towards the elevator and pressed the weapon. As the door opened he heard the Russians shouting. He didn't have to know what it meant, they were coming down the stairs. He limped into the elevator and pressed for first floor. The door closed and he let out a sigh of relief. The elevator lurched and started to carry him down. Jimmy got out of the elevator as the door opened on the first floor. He had ended up at a dark alleyway. There was a decision to be made. He could run right towards the city. He could go into the next building using a door across him. He could could go and hide in some dumpsters a couple of meters away to his left. His life depends on your choice. And the footsteps grew louder behind him every second.

My Movie Review on Princess Bride

Princess Bride

Today I'm going to talk about a movie filmed in 1987 called 'The Princess Bride', which was directed by Rob Reiner. It starts with a grandfather telling a fairy tale to a sick boy. It was filmed in Ireland and the UK. It was based on a love story which was like a fairy tale. The genre of this is fantasy, romantic comedy and adventure.

The story starts with two people in love, Butter and Westley. They both live on a farm and they had deeply fallen in love. the man Westley left to find his fortune. Unluckily message got back to Buttercup saying that he was dead. After, Buttercup was forced to marry Prince Humperdink the man living in the castle. He was the son of the king. One day Buttercup was kidnapped by the people by three people named Fezzik who was a giant, Inigo a great fencer and Vizzini who was the smartest person. But there was an unknown person following them. It was Westley. He followed Buttercup to the Cliff of Insanity. Westley defeats all three of them and saves Buttercup, but they were chased by Prince Humperdink. They were both both captured. Buttercup was forced to marry and Westley was killed by the Prince. Luckily, Rezzik and Inigo helped Westley because he let them live, also Inigo had to go into the castle to kill Count Rugen, the person who killed his father. Inigo goes to Miracle Max and revives Westley. Three of them storm the castle. They save Buttercup and kill Count Rugen. They all achieved their goals.

My opinion is that this was an OK movie. I really liked the parts of the movie. The lesson was: True love is strong and nothing can stop the bond. I think Westley has a good leadership because he was experienced and creative. He always had ideas.

My Three Goals

Today I am going to talk about my 3 goals that I will achieve while in GLPS. This was inspired by a TED talk. He said to try something new for 30 days. These goals are all related to me.

My first goal is to finish my math textbook before I finish the GLPS camp. I want to improve my math. So everyday I will do four pages of my textbook.

My second goal is to become a better leader. I will not be shy when introducing myself and will stand up for myself. Every time, I will try and give suggestions and help my group.

My third goal is to improve my golf swing. As we are learning golf in P.E. I will concentrate on every lesson. I will try to listen carefully. At my dorm I will practice my stance too.

I hope I achieve my goals; also, I hope you create your own 3 goals for 30 days. Good luck!
